If it were true that France had a formal military alliance with a country that was already engaged in conflict with Germany, this would suggest that the alliance was a significant factor in France's decision to enter the war. Additionally, if there were evidence showing that France felt compelled to support its ally due to treaty obligations or fear of losing international credibility, this would further indicate that the alliance played a crucial role. Lastly, if France's military preparations and mobilizations were directly linked to the actions of its ally against Germany, this would also point to the alliance as a driving cause for France's involvement.
He wanted Germany to pay for damages but did not want revenge. He did not want to let Germany off the hook too easily but felt they should be addressed firmly. He fell in the middle of George Clemenceau, who wanted revenge on Germany, and Woodrow Wilson, who just wanted world peace and simple reductions in arms and participation in the League of Nations. The U.S. felt that the treaty was punishing Germany the wrong way and felt that Germany would respond back. The treaty was made in a way that Germany would have no choice but to fight the treaty and that is a major reason for World War 2. By the U.S. not signing the treaty, they were not immediately involved in World War 2.

America never joined/allied with Germany in World War I and II. America was an ally and Germany was an axis. But America did join partially because of Germany. Germany announced that they would use their submarines on anyone and America felt threatened and decided they needed to take action. Germany also contacted Mexico and asked Mexico to help Germany defeat America.
