Why was ho chi minh trail effective?

The HO CHI MINH Trail was "Very" effective. But it wasn't a trail. It was a "Network" of roads and trails. If the US could have "widened" the war and involved Cambodia & Laos, the Ho Chi Minh could have easily been destroyed or occupied by US/Allied forces. Of course, then, possibly Red China and/or the Soviets would have had something to say about it. Red China DID enter the Korean War when US Forces invaded North Korea in 1950. So we simply bombed it, and conducted covert operations against it.

Why did US dislike Ho Chi Minh?

Guess what, I'm one of those people. Ho Chi Minh is a cruel, cruel man, he killed his own people in many tragic ways. Just saying that is getting me mad. He lived in the Northern part of Viet Nam but wanted to take over the Southern part of Viet Nam, that's where I used to live. But doesn't that sound so stupid? We lived in the same country but why does he wanted to fight for land? The people in the Northern part were super strong, but our people were not afraid, they risks their lives to save their families. Ho Chi Minh Killed everyone that was in his way, even old people and children, you should see some of the movies about the Viet Nam war, when Ho Chi Minh kill old womans because they don't want him to take away their kids and grandkids. Sadly, the Viet Nam war ended and Ho Chi Minh won. Now Viet Nam is under the control of the people in Northern part, which means is under the control of Ho Chi Minh. Even though he's dead but his powers are still strong. People in Viet Nam honor him for that and Southern people were forced to honor him or else they'll go to jail or even get kill. So now only the Northern people get to be presidents and can do anything they want, like take money and houses and maybe even families, my grandma was forced to give away her house so she have to hire a lawyer and fight for her old house for many years. That's why so many Vietnamese are in USA now, including my family, too.

Was Ho Chi Minh married?

Ho chi Minh did not ever got married. Some rumors have been circulated he was married, but the fact he never married. Ho did produced some off springs from many woman. Back in pre-communist day, all the citizen belong to the state. a family is consider a private property or a corporation, so the law back then was not allowed. Ho was use to with the idea of getting to see any woman at night. Some time to the village girls. Some time to his own fellow comrades. Most of the time when he traveled around the country, his village chiefs would offer their daughter to Ho as a token for his hard works to save Vietnam from evil-white man empire. Most of the time,Ho would gladly accepted the offer.

North Vietnam sent arms and supplies south by way of a network of jungle paths known as the?

Ho Chi Minh Trail. Not too much of a jungle route remaining, it was bombed so much. That's why it spread out into a net work, they had to keep building and repairing it.
