In short yes, Peterhead was bombed during ww2. The close proximity of Peterhead airfield, and other key sites such as the naval base at Peterhead docks made it a prime target. This unfortunately resulted in Peterhead being bombed a number of times, with quite a heavy loss of life. James St was bombed on 29th September 1941 and killed 30 people for instance. Im afraid i cant name any other specific incidents. Good luck!
The most bombed town in Scotland was Peterhead, in the North-East. This was due to the fact that it held captured German U-Boats, Home to R.A.F. Buchan and was vital in the British ship-building industry.
