No. The name in the movie was given to them by the Germans. There's was no such unit, Quinten Tarintino is just creative like that. The movie is not based on a true story, don't want to give away the movie, but Hitler dies. And if Hitler died in a theater in the middle of France, trust me, the history books would indicate that. Sorry, but the only thing you'll find under "Inglorious Bastards" when you Google is the movie...but the 'Bear Jew' is pretty hot
