Modern designer Gwendolyn Carrie found inspiration in a WWII museum in Stockholm when she saw a child's coat made of fish skin. It is more durable than leather or suede and it's waterproof, making it perfectly suitable for making shoes. And yes, as leather was scarce during that awful time, shoes had to be made of what was available, which was fish, of course!
