The U.S. government finally admitted after the war that they had no business being there. JFK and Bobby Kennedy knew it and so did Martin Luther King and 1/2 of the population of the U.S.

It could have been run by the military instead of the politicians. Those who traveled to North Vietnam and allowed themselves to be used in propaganda by the enemy could have been charged with treason. In short, the US could have acted as if we were actually fighting a war and forgotten about politically correctness.
We could have run an active bombing campaign against the NVA staging areas north of the DMZ. We gave the North Vietnamese a virtual sanctuary from which to attack South Vietnam. US troops should have attacked in southern North Vietnam and taken the war to the enemy. Instead we fought a defensive war in the south. It was only at the end of the war did we attack and bomb North Vietnam War making facilities in the north to any great extent. This was in the era before political correctness, we were actually afraid of Chinese intervention which is what had happened in Korea.

What are the two major parties in the US today?
They built a monument in Washington DC.
In the beginning, until the men got used to it. Leadership in Vietnam was conducted by WWII veterans, they were un-customed to fighting a limited war (a war in which the US military could not "nuke" the enemy until victory was accomplished; as was done in WWII).
At first, it seemed as though the Vietnam War was between North Vietnam and the U.S. with South Vietnam supporting them. In reality, the South Vietnam's Pro-Democratic government treated their people so badly, that they formed a secondary army, called the Vietcong or VC, and worked alongside the North Vietnamese to drive out the US forces. This was done so they could establish a Communist government because the new Capitalist government was not helping them.
Granting amnesty to America who evaded the Vietnam draft by President Jimmy Carter was called the most disgraceful thing a president has ever done.
In 1975; President Gerald R. Ford's attitude toward North Vietnam's invasion of South Vietnam was to state that South Vietnam was a beaten country and that the USA had done all that could be done and the USA was giving up on South Vietnam, which was overrun in 55 days.
They could've came to agreement and seattle with the other countries.
What part of this task I should have done differently?
The US could have bombed the critical industries of oil and ball bearings more often otherwise not much

i have made mistakes in my lide, but i know now what i could of have done differently so why live dwelling over it.
There was a temporary peace in which the USA was allowed to pull out of South Vietnam in January 1973. In 1975, the corrupt and incompetent government of SV fell after a 55 day invasion by North Vietnam. He got peace and honor for the USA and it's allies, who did their best from 1955 to 1975 to save South Vietnam. Nothing anyone could do, could prevent the takeover by North Vietnam. Since South Vietnam could not save themselves, no other nation could do it for them.
It is unclear what Americans could have done to avoid the Great Depression. The hard times during this time period were little fault of American citizens, but of the government. The only thing in retrospect they could have done was elect a different president.
Nothing; it ended the way it had to end. 1. Couldn't use nukes. 2. Couldn't invade North Vietnam. Fish or cut bait. We cut bait.
