Nicknamed "Tecumseh," William Sherman was known for being a great American general. He led the burning of Atlanta. He was also a good friend of President Grant, despite the fact that he tried to dissuade him from running for office.

Brutal but his actions were necessary and justified. He was the first general to realize and adjust to modern warfare. He often attacked barns and attempted to destroy the infastructure rather than randomly. His most famous move was the march to the sea where he left a trail of devastation behind him which split the confederates in two.

He was the leader of March to the Sea. This is where he and 60,000 veteran soldiers went on a destruction path down to the ocean. They had a 60 mile wide path of destruction in the Confederate territory. This resulted in the Confederate to split in two and a quick win for the Union.
