The Dig for Victory campaign was a campaign in Britain, much like the campaign in America to get women workers. This campaign, however, asked that civilians convert parks and sports fields into farms for vegetables and meat. This was largely in part to Britain's vulnerability to naval blockades, which would have prevented imported foods from reaching the island.

The Dig for Victory campaign was a campaign encouraging people to turn parks, sports fields, and other large and mostly unused fields into vegetable gardens and farms. At the time of war, Britain knew it could be starved out due to how much food came imported from overseas, and needed food to support the troops.

rationing began in WW, and food was restricted so dig for victory was something where people grew there own food and then had more food to eat. :-) please leave feedback! :)
