That phrase "survival of the fittest" did not originate with the nazis. It came from Charles Darwin's famous book Origin of the Species. The book emphasized that any type denizen of this planet that possessed the DNA or genetic characteristics to be survivors and to reproduce could well be called the "fittest.' Also, they could likely strengthen their survival characteristics and so continue through time to survive and procreate. The only way that the nazis could be connected with this theory was that Hitler wanted to set up a "super race" of Aryans. Also being anti-semitic, Hitler believed he could set up the super race quicker if he exterminated all the Jews. Thus, the Holocaust horrors.
