The Civil War ended slavery thanks to President Lincoln. The Confederacy wanted to become a separate country like area. During the first battle, both Confederate and Union supporters were watching it as if it was a sporting event. Some brought picnics and friends just to watch. The Confederacy supported slavery, but the Union did not. The civil war also gave way to new military strategies and weapons. Some improvements came in medicines and amputating of limbs.

Above all, the Civil War improved human rights and kept the United States of America together.

The North and South are now united again, officially. There is no more slavery, and blacks and whites should be treated equally, and today we are still working on that.
