An agreement by belligerents to suspend military operations. For example, World War I Armistice.
if you mean when did it start it started on 28th July 1914 and ended on 11th November 1918
Armistice means you are at a state of peace.
I'm going to assume that you mean the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. This time marks the end of World War I because the allies signed an armistice with Germany. November 11th is now known as Veteran's Day to remember all of the fallen armed forces in World War I. President Woodrow Wilson declared this day a holiday in 1919.

An armistice is when two sides in a war agree to stop fighting. It doesn't mean the war is over- it just means that the two sides agree to "pause" the war. Usually it's done to start negotiating a peace treaty (which does officially end the war) or to observe a holiday of some kind. So when the Germans signed the armistice on November 11, 1918, they agreed to stop fighting so that a peace treaty could be negotiated. The negotiations started in January 1919 and the Treaty of Versailles (which officially ended the war for Germany) was signed in June 1919. In 1953, North and South Korea agreed to an armistice, but never finalized a peace treaty. Both sides are still technically at war- and every now and then, small fights do start between the sides (such as in Nov 2010 when North Korea shot artillery at a South Korean island, and the South shot back).
