Answer 1

All three believed in global cooperation, which they proved by becoming involved in separate efforts towards peace.

Answer 2

All three were involved in the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-9. Norwegian Trygve Lie was the Secretary-General of the United Nations who led the United Nations in an investigation about the viability of a Jewish and/or Arab State in Mandatory Palestine and concluding with two states for two peoples. Israeli David Ben Gurion was the Prime Minister of Israel during that period and coordinated Israeli Strategy. African-American Ralph Bunche negotiated the Israeli-Egyptian Armistice in 1949 which was the first armistice between Israel and any Arab State.
