Found your question while looking to answer it myself. Here's what I found. DNB means "Deceased, Non-Battle" - died as a result of an accident or some such, rather than killed in combat.

Kia = Killed In Action

DOW = Died of Wounds

DOI = Died of Injuries

DNB = Died Non-Battle

FOD = Finding of Death

M = Missing
