He was 22 when it started in 1968 and as such, he must have been 31 when it ended in 1977
Dad's Army was a British sitcom that aired from 1968 to 1977, set during World War II. It humorously depicted the experiences of a group of elderly and inept volunteers in the Home Guard, tasked with defending Britain from potential invasion while the regular army was occupied elsewhere. The show highlighted themes of camaraderie and resilience, becoming a beloved classic in British television history. Its characters, like Captain Mainwaring and Sergeant Wilson, became iconic representations of British humor during the war era.

If you have any photos of your father in his uniform or fatigues take the photo over to your nearest Army Recruiters office and have them look at it. Otherwise you will have to contact the related link below. Or stop by the Army Recruiters office anyway and ask them for help.
