There were three major effects:1. Establishment of the Japanese Imperial Navy as a major naval power.2. Removal of the Russian Navy from the European naval arms race, which allowed Germany to compete against Britain without competition.3. Britain's approval to lay the keel of HMS Dreadnought in October 1905.The number one effect was the construction of HMS Dreadnought four months after the Battle of Tsushima, which had validated the concept of an all-big-gun battleship. The launching of Dreadnought in 1906 commenced a new world naval arms race which led directly into World War I
I am not being facetious: The biggest effect of World War I was World War II.
The two largest were the Yamato and Musashi, each mounted 18" guns.
It referred to the battleships of the early 1900's. These massive war machines were pretty much invincible and "feared nothing," in otherwords, they were in 'dread of nought.' They were armed with large-caliber guns in turrets. The name alludes to HMS Dreadnought, a ship launched by Britain in 1906. A dreadnought was a British name for an large ironclad, steam-powered warship with a lot of big guns on it. Later the term was changed to battleship. A dreadnought is type of battleship, built after 1906, that utilized an "all-big-gun" arrangement. Dreadnoughts usually only had eight or more, 12 inch guns, where pre-Dreadnought battleships usually only carried four 12 inc guns, and an assortment of smaller guns. One good example of this new type of battle ship was the HMS Tiger.

The biggest result, was that the war caused the creation & launching of HMS Dreadnought in 1906 (keel was laid in October 1905, four months after the battle of Tsushima, which verified the Dreadnought's construction). Dreadnought caused a whole new naval arm's race which led directly into WWI.
