i had this for a homework assignment and found this outin May 1911 ten men formed the Black Hand secret society in Serbia. Members were people such as Colonel Dragutin Dimitrijevic who was chief of intelligence department of Serbian genera staff. Also there was Voja Tankosic and Milan Ciganovic. The Black Hand group was formed to create a grater Serbia and this would be accomplished by using violence. The aim was "To realize the national ideal, the unification of all Serbs. This organisation prefers terrorist action to cultural activities; it will therefore remain secret."Dragutin Dimitrijevic whose codename was Apis made himself leader of the Black Hand group. 1911 he sent a member to assassinate Emperor Franz Josef. This failed so the leader of the Black Hand group Dragutin Dimitrijevic, decided he would assassinate Oskar Potiorek, Governor of the Austrian provinces of Bosnia-Herzegovina. He hired Muhamed Mehmedbasic to kill Potiorek he would do this by using a poisoned dagger this also failed. In 1914 there were 2,500 members of the Black Hand group. It was made up of mainly junior army officers. It also included university professors, journalists and lawyers some of these lived in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
