With all the bombing in Britain in WW2 children were sent away. They were called evacuees. They were sent to live either with relatives in the countryside, or random people, away from all the major cities which were being bombed at this time.

The evacuee's name, their parents, their host families, their destination and where they are from.
If the child still lived with their parents during WWII, the kid would be sent to an orphanage or something. If the kid was evacuated to the countryside for safety, they would either go live with a relative or stay with they people they were evacuated to. Some evacuees prefer the country.
