Thpusands of Vietnamese refugees went to Guam straight from Saigon. I was in the Red Cross and we worked for weeks getting people processed, and camps were set up on Anderson AFB. You don't hear much about that but I was there, I remember the people very well. They were all connected in some way to the American embassy or worked in some capacity. Most would have been shot if they had remained in Vietnam. Many of their family members were executed for involvement in south Vietnamese government.
