Jediism is a real world belief & or a philosophy stemming from the Jedi in the Star Wars films, in 2001 a large group of people put down Jedi/Jedi knight as a joke on the religion part of their census reports. to keep people from having to pay a fine for puting false info, it was reported that a few thousand "Jedi" lived in the UK and the department of census takers confirmed it as real and newly made religion.
The Church of Jediism was founded in Holyhead - Wales, UK by Daniel M. Jones, it has since then become one of the largest and fastest growing religions in the world. There are a few churches that follow Jediism, however the CoJ (Church of Jediism) is said to have the most followers and thus the most media. It is also the only Jediism church that has has a seminar.

No way! The Force is not real, it's just made up for the Star Wars movies. People cannot use it, nor can they call themselves Jedi. Jediism is not a real religion.

The Jedi religion is also known as 'Jediism'. It is a religion which spawned from the Star Wars films. They use the philosophy found in the Star Wars books and films along with aspects from various other religions. They believe in meditation, and they believe in 'the Force'. I think a Wikipedia page exists on it. Search for Jediism on Google and it should come up! :D hope this helps!
Jediism, often associated with the belief system inspired by the Jedi of the Star Wars franchise, was founded by Daniel J. W. Jones in the early 2000s. He formally established the movement in 2001, primarily through the creation of the Church of the Jedi. The belief system incorporates elements of spirituality, philosophy, and ethics drawn from the Star Wars universe, as well as various real-world religions and philosophies.
Jediism, a belief system inspired by the Jedi characters in the Star Wars franchise, does not have a single founder. Instead, it emerged in the late 1990s, primarily through the efforts of fans and practitioners who sought to create a spiritual path based on the values and philosophies depicted in the films. The movement gained more structure and recognition through online communities and organizations, such as the Temple of the Jedi Order, which was established in 2001.
I believe that Jediism (as in, Jedi, Star Wars), does not have any actual worship centers, other than the individuals home and social group, etc...
Just for a few numbers 21,000 Canadians, 390,127 English/welsh people and 53,000 in New Zealand claim Jediism (the religion of Jedi) as their religion.
In a 2001 census in Australia over 70k people identified Jedi as their religion. The number dropped off slightly in later years but rose again to around 64k in the 2012 version. This is the result of a movement started in 2001 when a group of Star Wars fans began recruiting Australians to their cause. "If there are enough people in the country, about 10,000, who put down the same religion, it becomes a fully recognized and legal religion" is what the email reads. This means that now Jedi is no longer classified as "no religion" and is now classified as a "Not defined" religion in Australia's government. Whether it's some persons idea of a joke, or just an interesting way of getting back at the government, some people think it's becoming a much bigger problem than originally thought. The idea that a fictional Jedi order created for books and movies in the Star Wars franchise could actually be considered a real religion is absurd, but fans seem to have figured out a way to make it legitimate, at least figuratively if not literally.
