Colony (Okay term) Puppet state(Derisive) sphere of influence (maybe halfway up!) not in (Fallen Flag) mourning sense.. Canada was/is a colony or dominion of the UK certainly in the war period. Japan had puppet states such as Manchukuo in occupied China that had their gears shifted, so to speak in Tokyo.

What is a dictaor?

A dictatorship means that the country is governed by a person who 'dictates' what the laws and policies of a country are, they have complete and unrestricted power. The citizens do not have a say in what happens in the country. There is no representation for or of the people with regards to laws and policies. It derives from the word "Dictate" which roughly means (in this context) to lay down authoritatively - or to read or speak to.

Which country influenced the creation of communist governments in Eastern Europe after World War 2?

The Soviet Union. The Soviet Union, under Joseph Stalin, considered itself to be the world's leader of Communism, since they had the world's first and only Communist country (which is a bit of a contradiction, but that's a story for another time). As the Soviets liberated countries in Eastern Europe, they tended to work with local Communist parties in those countries, and then would install their leaders as the new rulers of the country. With a new Communist government in control, the Soviet Union would then control that government, and thus, that country.
