Goebbels was a man of letters, quite brilliant and as that implies, a writer. The Goebbels diaries, in translation, in part ( much was lost during the post-war and so-called De-Nazification period) survive and make intriguing reading. In several hundred pages of writing, Goebbels uses the term Nazi only once or twice! Of course when he speaks of the Party the Nazi one is understood. At times he seems to have been fairly religious ( judged from his writings). Goebbels served the Nazi Cause well as Propaganda Minister ( No equivalent US posting) and also Gauleiter ( county executive) of Greater Berlin. Goebbels was the main Nazi Ideologue or thinker- and surely he wrote materials which were verbally expounded (and expanded) on by Hitler himself. Goebbels coined the term Total War in the Nazi context. He also pushed the semi-comic Kohlenklau ( Coal Thief) concept used in a wartime fuel-economy drive- yes energy conservation in Nazi Germany. These used a comic cartoon character and the phrase Kohlenklau Kommft! ( The coal thief is coming!) or maybe more colloquial- Watch out- Here comes the Kohlenklau!~

All I've managed to find for this is that something happened to make the Germans think that he was an incompetent leader, I've been researching on here for hours and I've found nothing else yet... I think I'm going to tear my freaking hair out!
