Given that about 10% of the population of Germany belonged to the Party of one of its organizations by 1942, I wonder if it's sensible to try to 'profile' them. In the 1950s and 1960s some would have said, 'authoritarian personalities' but this would presumably have applied mainly to ardent core members.
