Best Answer

Berchtesgaden is a small town in south east Bavaria, very close to the Austrian border. The town is mainly famous because of its proximity to the Obersalzberg mountain where Hitler had a mountain home. The town is now very popular with tourists interested in WW2 era history as well as the beautiful views of the Alps and the popular Watzmann mountain range.
