He did. It was the Congress and the American people who did not want to fight in World War 2 when they were isolationists. They refused to fight in another European war "over their silly issues." They did not understand that the Nazis were going through Europe murdering, plundering stealing and putting the Jews into death and labor camps.

Roosevelt was doing his level best to help England and to get his people educated on what was happening in Europe. The Japanese however solved his problem.

Roosevelt had sent military equipment, food, medicines and many American men went over to England to serve in the Royal Army Air Force.

The united states joined the war for a few reasons. first of all Japan had bombed Pearls Harbor( thats what made us enter war). We also wanted to keep Germany from gaining to much land. Lend Lease. Four freedoms. And the Atlantic charter

Franklin Roosevelt did not enter World War 2. The United States, of which Roosevelt was President, entered World War 2. The US did that because it was attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan, and because Germany then declared war on the UN.
