During the battle of bull run the Union soldiers were pushing back the Confederate soldiers. The Confederates were shipping reinforcements in by train. After a while they almost retreated. the Union did not chase them,that was a big mistake. Instead they went away, regrouped and came back with more troops and made the Union run all the way to Wasington DC.
The confederates were running back and forth. They had bad weapons so they didn't shoot all too much, they mainly stabbed people with bayonettes. It lasted a couple hours. the fighting was terrable and not to orderly, they were hardly trained but well led. Many were being shot with cannons.
