After 4 years of bitter, bloody fighting which killed 8 million people, Germany finally signed the Armistice Treaty which resulted in an Allied Victory.
The Treaty of Versailles set out harsh terms for Germany, leading to resentments that did help to lead to WWII. Germany lost its overseas empire to the victors which, in the Pacific, included Japan seizing its Pacific island holdings. The Austro-Hungarian Empire separated into smaller nations: Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and others. The Ottoman Empire lost its holdings in Arabia, and became a more democratic country called Turkey. Revolution in Russia deposed the Czar and led to years of Civil War, ending in a Soviet state. Even the victorious European countries suffered from a long and arduous recovery which eventually led to the Great Depression. America prospered as the lender nation and sent relief to Europe, enjoying an unprecedented prosperity called The Jazz Age, right up until the Stock Market Crash of 1929.
In 1918 the Americans joined the fight and the Germans had one last attack, but failed and the Entente started drilling towards Germany. in November 1918 The emperor of Germany, Kaiser Albert fled from Germany and the new Government surrended on November 11 1918.
what followed was the 'Treaty of Versailles' whereby Germany;
-had to accept the war guilt
-had its army reduced to 100'000
-could only have 6 battleships
-Was forbidden to build tanks, submarines and planes.
-had to pay £6,600 million
-Had its colonies given to the Entente.
- was forbidden to unite with Austria.
-Had to demilitarise the Rhineland
-Was to give Alsace-Lorraine back to the French
- Gave a strip of land to Poland whereby Poland had access to the sea.
Kaiser William 2 was responsible for the war was defeated by the allies.he fled away to holland Socialist republic was setup in Germany There was a peace conference in paris The important questions the conference was concerned with, were 1.computation of the losses sustained during war 2.organisation of civil life 3.arrangement of treaties with the defeated powers 4.steps to be taken to prevent recurrence of wars in future A peace conference was convened on 18 January 1919,in which 80 delegates from thirty seven countreis participated
The outcome of World War One was the defeat of the German Empire, the removal of its colonial holdings, and the eventual rise of Hitler; the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Russian Empire and the Turkish Empire; the independence of many smaller, ethnically-based states in central and eastern Europe, the beginning of Arab nationalism and British promise of a Jewish homeland in what was then Palestine.
Germany was stripped of many of its European holdings, such as Prussian Poland, West Prussia, and the Rhineland. Austria- Hungary was the hardest hit, with much of its holdings becoming separate countries, such as Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and Romania. The Ottoman Empire lost its holdings in Trebizond and the Middle East (such as Palestine and Iraq)
WW1 ended in the treaty of Versailles basically blamed the Germans for starting the war. They made them pay 31.4 billion dollars and they lost land to Poland, France, Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Denmark, and Lithuania. The league of nations took some land but it was later given to France. Germany also had to demilitarize and had restrictions on the army. This was to be sure Germany wouldn't start anymore wars.
They didn't influence the outcome of WW2. The outcome was influenced by productivity and firepower.
it didnt
America did not join the League of Nations
The atomic bomb explosions on Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the war.
The German force had weaken from Africa
The country remained united and became a world power.
Victory for the Allies.
The outcome of Germany was that it was split into four zones, one for the US, one for the Soviets, one for the British, and one four the French. Berlin was also divided into four zones.
I don't think the Nazi persecution of the Jews had any bearing on the '''outcome''' of World War 2. The war (unlike the Holocaust) was not about the Jews.
The outcome of World War I FAILED to bring about a world body, the "League of Nations." The U.S. Senate WOULD NOT ratify it. The outcome of World War II SUCCEEDED in bringing about a world body, the United Nations. The U.S. Senate DID ratify it. If you don't succeed the first time in starting us on the road to a one-world socialist oligarchy, you try again (if that's what you want!)
