The members of the Triple Entente (Great Britain, France, Russia) were called the Allies.

The Triple Alliance (Germany, Austro-Hungary, Italy) changed its name to Central Powers because Italy entered the war on the side of the Allies in 1915.

Prior to World War I, a Triple Alliance existed (mostly in secret) between Germany, the Austria-Hungary Empire, and Italy. Italy did not enter the war in support of her allies, however. By contrast, during the war, the "Triple Entente" of Britain, France, and Russia did hold together until the collapse of Russia in 1917.
