Russia had a huge population from which to recruit soldiers. However, it was poorly equipped and poor in general. It didn't help that Russia couln't get supplies through the Black Sea from its allies because of the Ottoman Empire.

Russia had a large population to recruit an war-time army from and the was a lot of space between the border with the Central Powers and the capital, making it quite difficult to get there for an invasion force.

However, Russia;s army was not well-equipped. It was isolated from its allies, making it harder for those allies to send supplies.

In contrast (and as just one example on the weakness side), this same confidence bred over-confidence: the presence of allies led a number of combatants to see the erupting conflict as an "easy" war that would bring quick victory.

What were erwin Rommel's weaknesses?

Erwin Rommel's weaknesses were unsanitary conditions in his army and the over stretching of supply lines caused by his favorite style of warfare, the blitzkrieg. These weaknesses are best used if you can stop the rapid advances used in the blitzkrieg. The usage of these weaknesses to defeat Rommel were best demonstrated by British General Bernard Montgomery in the North African theater of World War 2.
