A spotter, in the context of Twentieth Century Warfare, is a soldier armed with a pair of binoculars. The spotter's job is to work in tandem with a Sniper (A soldier armed with a Sniper Rifle or other long-ranged weapon) and find enemy targets for the sniper to shoot.

Sometimes, a spotter works with an Artillery team rather than a Sniper, but the concept is the same: Find targets, tell the other soldiers where the target is, wait for target to die.
