Time has healed most, if not all of the damage to both the land and it's people. The younger generation have not, for the most part experienced war (for the first time, as earlier generations of Vietnamese had to experience war from 1942 through 1975), and the trees and other vegetation have grown back, homes have been rebuilt, bridges restored, etc. The ONLY lasting effect appears to be the countless bomb craters thru-out the former North & South Vietnam, Lao's and Cambodia. But time has taken care of that too; green grass has grown around the craters, and rain water has filled them, forming ponds through out the lands. Farmers in some cases, are cultivating them, raising certain plant crops and fish. From the air, the ponds LOOK NATURAL, and in many cases are beautiful to the eye, when surrounded by green grass and flowers.
