They were on par with the US. In some cases pretty good; they copied our Atomic Bomb and tested it in 1949, bringing the Soviets into the Atomic Age; they made an EXACT copy of our B-29 Superfortress Bomber after capturing two of them in Northern China/Siberia in WW2; they made copies of our Air to Air missiles and had them shot back at us, when those missiles were attached to the under bellies of the North Vietnamese Air Force MIG-21's during the Vietnam War. All the result of Soviet (Russian) military intell work.

Strengths and weaknesses of James 1 of England?

James 1 had many stengths and weaknesses during his reign in Britain. He possed strengths such as good intelligence, a wise judger and possesd a very retentive memory which meant he was able to retain knowledge or information with ease. But Jame's faults were only too apparent, but they shouldnt undermine his considerable achievments he did such as keeping his country at peace for more then 20 years. His major downfall was his manners. When he spoke, ate, in his converstaions in the presence of women, his manners where crude and poor. Some believe James strengths could outweigh his weaknesses and vice-versa. For example, did James' poor manners affect his ability to rule? Did his poor hygiene affect the views people had on him and the popularity he had? These things are important for Historians to think about. Overall, he was a wise man, but lacking in manners where his major fault.
