Possible drawbacks were the extreme punative damages extracted from Germany. Germany was made to pay £6,600 million in damages, an amount that further crippled the German economy.

The occupation of the Saar district, a large industrial part of Germany. Without the industrial heartland, Germany was further crippled in it's ability to recover and destablised the government further.

By making Germany accept all responsibility for the war, it made Germany a scapegoat for the entire War.
