If you mean as in 'battle between big surface ships battering each other with their big guns', the last one was the Battle of Jutland, in 1916 in WW 1. Another one was the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
The USA had some major battles in the Pacific in WW2, the Battle of Leythe being one of the most famous. But here is wasn't so much the big surface ships fighting each other. Now and from then on it was mostly dive bomber groups, launched from aircraft carriers, that did the most damage.

The first was the "Battle of the Philippine Sea" (aka the Marianna's Turkey Shoot; due to so many "trainee" IJN pilots being shot down by combat experienced USN pilots). The second was history's largest naval battle, the "Battle of Leyte Gulf."
