The Battle of Britain was in World War 2 and was when the English planes fought of the German planes and bombers

British forces in ww2 fought in Europe, Africa & the Far East. After the defeat in France & the retreat from Dunkirk the British took the fight to the Italians in East Africa & Libya. The British & British Empire forces were overrun by the Japanese advances in 1941, notably the fall of Singapore & Hong Kong. Eventually they halted the Japanese advance in Burma. After El Alemein the British were able to advance to Tunisia and join with US forces which had landed in Operation Torch. They then joined in invasions of Sicily & the Italian mainland. In the summer of 1944 the D Day landings took place & the advance to Berlin took place. Also the British were heavily involved in both the battle of the Atlantic & the strategic bombing of German cities & centres of industrial production
