The victor writes the rules. If you are reading a book produced in Great Britain (which produces a lot of military literature) you will ALWAYS find British warships, airplanes, tanks, etc. mentioned, and they will cover most of the book. The other country's warships, airplanes, etc. will be mentioned too, however, in order to get more British material in the publication, some countries may have to be omitted. If the same book is published in Japan, the same thing will happen, except they'll be Japanese airplanes, warships, and tanks, etc. So who won the most battles in the Vietnam War? The North Vietnamese will most likely say, since they are a modest people, that they won a lot of them, but not all of them. The US, on the other hand, has already stated, that US forces in Vietnam never lost a battle.

Since the US Army had the most casualties in Vietnam, it was the US Army. Of that branch, the US Infantry suffered the most casualties. Percentage wise, from one particular group (MOS) US Tank Crewmen (tankers) suffered the highest casualties (27%/725 Armor Crewmen killed in battle).

MOS=Military Occupational Specialty

There is a lot of debate on who won this war, but it ended in a stalemate which means neither side won neither side lost.
