Germany lost about 20% of its 1937 territory:

  1. East Prussia
  2. Pommerania (most)
  3. Silesia
  4. The eastern part of Brandenburg.

The German population was expelled from these areas, mainly to the western zones. During the expulsions an estimated 1.8 million Germans were killed.
