Ethan Allen fought in the American Revolutionary War as the leader of the Green Mountain Boys militia. It was composed of settlers from modern day Vermont. In the first decisive victory of the war, Allen and his boys took Fort Ticonderoga. The Green Mountain Boys were incorporated into the Continental army and Allen did not see further action.
