For the British, Field Marshal Sir Harold Alexander, Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, Field Marshal Alan Brooke.

For the Americans, General Dwight Eisenhower, General George Patton, General Omar Bradley.

Eisenhower was top Allied commander, Brooke and Alexander were next in line.

Patton was the best fighting general, and Montgomery also won many battles.

Bradley was an excellent planner, and used Patton as the hammer striking the iron.

Montgomery pushed Rommel's vaunted Afrika Korps clear across North Africa, and Patton's third Army drove across France and into Germany, winning the Battle of the Bulge for the Allies. Patton was the one Allied commander the Germans feared among all others.
