Montgomery pushed Rommel's vaunted Afrika Korps clear across North Africa, and Patton's third Army drove across France and into Germany, winning the Battle of the Bulge for the Allies. Patton was the one Allied commander the Germans feared among all others.

After the war, he would go on to become the 34th President of the United States.
