After the Battle of the Alamo the Mexican soldiers went to attack the Texans so the Texans got very scared and panicked so they fled to the US because if the Mexican army went to the US the US would take that as a sign of war and that is the Runaway Scrap.

No one really won. Sam Houston kept fleeing from battles, and then the people of Texas got scared, so they ran off from Texas (not literally, they used wagons and horses) which is why its called the "Runaway Scrape".
