I would say no. In World War II, the US actually stayed out of the world until Pearl Harbor in 1941 when the Japanese bombed Hawaii. World War II is generally agreed to have begun in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. So as you can see, the US tried to stay out of the war and only entered in self-defense after it had been attacked. World War II was started by Germany and Japan in a quest for global domination. Some historians blame the harsh punishments imposed on Germany after WWI for allowing Hitler to gain power. This may be possible, but in any case, the Americans did not advocate the harsh punishments as they did not suffer the heavy losses suffered in Europe.

I am attempting to locate my natural father who was a World War 2 Veteran from Brighton MA and whose name is Edward Joseph Levinson also known as Ted Levinson.
Germany blamed the Jews, Gypsies, un-Aryian races for the loss in world war one so Germany killed the Jews, Gypsies, etc... Japan wanted to control The pacific and southeast Asia and attacked the USA for them to get into the war. There're fault he he he.
Short answer: Generally, yes for World War Two in Europe. Japan's fault for WW2 in Asia/Pacific.
