Also peasants were forced to fight. Russia was continually short on food, guns, ammunition, clothes, boots, and blankets. Also the supply shipments from the allies were limited but the Germans controlled the baltic sea. Also during the time of war, a revolution was taking place in Russia. They had to pull out of war due to war-related shortages of food and fuel.
