Politics, Dealing effectively with pollution costs money. in competitive society's like the United states there is a strong inclination for the private sector to deal with problems rather then having the government look after it. Big business is untested in making money, as a mater of fact they have no choice, They have no time for social responsibility aside from paying lip service to the concept in order to make more money. the money big business has is also used to shape public opinion. in the end there is nothing that can be done in a realistic effort to deal with pollution until enough people are killed as the result of natural disasters poisoning disease etc because the heads of the most powerful organisations including the heads of government wont feel the effect personally for a long time to come yet. and they way they look at it is, ah well I will be dead by then anyway.
We have got used to so many things, which we find difficult to get rid off. We drive vehicles, use refrigerators, air conditioners, room heaters etc but we must try our best to save our environment. I have installed solar screens in my house, to keep my home warm in winters and cool in summers. I use ACs and heaters to minimal and also save a lot on electricity bill as well. Thanx TBS gallery for the great advice :)
Russia had problems fighting on the eastern front during WW1, because Russia was poorly equipped to fight a modern war. Russians suffered one of the worst defeats of the war, causing them to retreat.
Western, Eastern & Balkan (Italian), and to a lesser extent Middle Eastern.

Eastern Europe is a region within the continent of Europe. It contains no capital city as a whole.
The Most important river for Eastern Europes transportation is the Danube River.
Environmental issues in the Middle East have received relatively little attention, compared to those of regions such as the Americas, Africa, or Asia. Middle Eastern environmental issues are often forgotten because of the politics and economic stagnation of the region. This is a oversight, since environmental problems very often underlie the political conflicts in this area. Other substantial impediments in most Middle Eastern countries include the relative lack of scientific information on the biodiversity of the region, and the difficulty of sharing relevant research findings between Middle Eastern countries.
The main environmental concern in the Middle East is a lack of water.
In the EU, different points of view make unity more difficult. In Eastern Europe, industries have to update their methods of production.
Yes.
health problems.. and simple symptoms
Eastern Europe did not industrialize the same time as Western Europe did. This is because they were opposed to industrialization as well as the West tried to prevent the spread of industrialization. Eastern Europe has been going through massive industrialization for the past couple of decades, however, which is why the economy of Eastern Europe has been changing dramatically.
Some of the factors that contributed to environmental improvements in Eastern Europe during the 1990s include the transition to market economies, which led to the closure of highly polluting industries; improved regulation and enforcement of environmental laws; adoption of cleaner technologies; and increased international cooperation and funding for environmental projects.
