There were two groups of teams:
Axis: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bosnia (Who Hated it), Bulgaria and Turkey.
Allies: British Empire (Australia, India, New Zealand, Canada and parts of Africa), France, Belgium, Russia, Serbia (Who Caused the First World War Via the "Black Hand Gang") and Britain.
USA and Switzerland came in much later, USA for the Allies, I'm not sure about Switzerland.
There were two groups fighting in World War I - the Axis and the Allies. The Axis consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), and Bulgaria.
World war 1 ended because the Germans surrended to the Allies
Allied punishments weakened the German Economy after World War 1, while Allies helped revive the German economy after World War 2.
The US joined the war on the side of the Allies on April 6, 1917.
