I am not racist. I want to make that clear. And I do not think ALL of the indigenous peoples of North American fit into this category because many have evolved. However, I do think that when Europe made contact with North American people (let me call them Indians, though it's a stupid name because they are not from India) the Indian people were in the stone ages. Look up what being in the stone age means: using bone and stone for tools and survival. This is where they were when they met the Europeans who, for their part, were in an early industrial age or certainly a late agricultural stage.
Since they met, the Euro and Asian world has evolved along lines into what is now an age of technology. Our Indian friends, for the most part, have not. If you want to blame something (such as Indian wars, Reservations, Indian schools, etc.), go ahead, but it's not a matter of blame its a matter of evolution. One cannot simply skip steps and go past the iron age or the agricultural ages or industrial age and simply BE with the rest in this present age, it just isn't possible.
Ever wonder why Indians (and this extends to the Australian Aboriginals too)have bigger heads and are very much less intelligent than most Euro or Asian people? It is because they are still closer to their caveman origin than the evolved humans of Europe and Asia.
In time they will evolve, but until then please be patient. Some of them already evolved, but for the most part they are and will remain under developed in ability, intelligence, ingenuity and so forth.
It is neither too bad nor something to feel bad about. Its just evolution. And someday all people will be at the same stage - just not yet. Not today.
