Technically, Caucasians are from Caucasus which is located in Southern Russia. In the 19th century, a group of anthropologists and others injudiciously broadened the definition to any number of light-skinned people in Europe. Today, it is erroneously applied only to the color of skin--specifically white skin--and not to a race of people.
Under any of these applications, however, Native Americans are not Caucasian. Even though their ancient forebears may have crossed over the Bering Strait from Russia pre-dating their oral traditions, Native Americans are brown skinned people indigenous to the North American continent.
