Fletcher James Johnson, Jr. MD played Basketball. He attended Dusquesne University on a basketball scholarship. He met his wife while attending Dusquesne University. Dr. Johnson had a passion for medicine, and he wanted to change his athletic scholarship for an academic scholarship. Dusquesne University turned his request down and so he made other plans. He used his athletic ability to get a scholarship at the University of Bologna in Italy. He brought his wife, M.G. Johnson, who was multilingual, and his two children, Renee E. Johnson and Fletcher H. Johnson III. Upon completing his medical education, Dr. Johnson returned to the United States and began his residency.
