Over night there was a deep snowfall and in the morning there was no wood in the firebox. Nancy was already exhausted from the constant, never ending, hard work and she had to go outside in the deep snow to get firewood. She overexerted herself and had a miscarriage. The baby was stillborn.
Edward Baker "Eddie" Lincoln died February 1, 1850, at the age of 3. He is generally thought to have died of tuberculosis, or "consumption," yet it has also been suggested that he died of a hereditary disease.
Robert Todd Lincoln lived 82 years, he had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage induced by arteriosclerosis, and died during the night, in his sleep.
His only son Abraham "Jack" Lincoln II, was born on August 14, 1873 and died on March 5, 1890 at the age of 16 in London, England. The cause of his death was blood poisoning.
