We know very little about any of Jesus' disciples and, with the possible exceptions of Judas and James, nothing about how they died. During the second century, various lurid traditions sprang up as to how they died, with in some cases a disciple dying by different means and in widely different locations.
Christian tradition has three stories about Bartholomew's death. One is that he was kidnapped, beaten unconscious and then cast into the sea to drown. Another says that he was crucified upside down and the third states that he was skinned alive and beheaded in either Albac or Albanopolis. None of these is likely to be historical, so we do not know when or how St Batholomew died.
There are a number of saints named Bartholomew. You need to be more specific. However, if you are referring to Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, he was flayed alive at Albanopolis, Armenia.
