Farming because they thought women could not do the job.
Middle Colonies developed a heterogeneous population, men and women of different ethnic and religious backgrounds (America Past and Present: Diversity in the Middle Colonies, page 44).
The middle colonies economy i don't think was that great since only white men that were rich & owned land could vote and have rights, women and other people such as African America ,Asian, & other people who had differences did not have rights & could not vote. Thank u 4 reading my best answer !
A typical day in the middle colonies started early. Houses were not only where people lived, but where they worked as well. Both men and women put in long work days. While the mane was the head of the household, the woman helped him, this included helping with crops. Children also helped out. Women cooked, cleaned, took care of the kids, and worked in making items that could be sold for money. Men worked, with breaks for lunch, and later dinner. Time off was often spent visiting.
The people of the middle colonies were men and women.
