Eugenics is a social and scientific movement aimed at improving the genetic quality of a human population, often through selective breeding and sterilization. Originating in the late 19th century, it gained popularity in the early 20th century, particularly in the United States and Europe, where it was associated with ideas of racial superiority and population control. The movement led to unethical practices, including forced sterilizations and discriminatory laws, and reached its most horrific expression during the Holocaust. By the mid-20th century, eugenics fell out of favor due to its association with human rights abuses and flawed scientific principles.

Eugenics is a social and scientific movement that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, advocating for the improvement of human populations through selective breeding and genetic manipulation. It sought to promote desirable traits and reduce the occurrence of perceived undesirable traits, often leading to controversial and unethical practices, including forced sterilizations and racial discrimination. The movement has been widely discredited due to its association with human rights abuses, particularly during the Holocaust and in various sterilization campaigns. Today, eugenics is viewed critically, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations in genetics and public health.

The mentally disabled were murdered in German extermination camps by various means (i.e. gassings, shootings, and by the spread of disease, such as Typhus, due to poor conditions throughout the camps) prior to and during WWII. This was due to the policy of "eugenics". Eugenics was a science (some would say pseudo-science), perpetuated in many places throughout the world at the time (including the United States), that advocated the extermination and forced sterilization of diseased and mentally retarded individuals in order to stop them from breeding and passing on their genes to future generations. This was done due to a number of reasons; for example, in Germany it was done in order to promote the Nazi ideal of a healthy, pure-blooded, Aryan race, but mainly because it was believed that by exterminating and/or sterilizing persons afflicted with the aforementioned deficiencies, certain diseases and mental retardation could be completely eradicated from society. But as we now know, that wasn't the case. Keep in mind, while America did not pursue eugenics on an extermination basis, many diseased, mentally retarded and mentally ill individuals were forcefully sterilized in order to keep them from procreating.

It can manifest as a twitch or movement of the upper lip, which might occur involuntarily during stressful situations. This reaction can also be a sign of excitement or anticipation. The surrealism movement. Is that what you were looking for?
Absolutely. Some examples include shivering, muscle spasms, muscle cramps, changing body positions during sleep, and breathing (which is voluntary up to a point, then it happens involuntarily to keep you from dying). There are also two different skeletal muscles in your middle ear that are completely under autonomic (involuntary) control.
